DESCRIPTION OF THE PERFORMANCE:
"Koniec, początek - SOMA" / "The end, the beginning – SOMA" looks for an answer what an independent body is in terms of our corporeality. Soma is a body which is a way most of all... "Koniec, początek – soma" is a physical theatre looking for deconstruction and authentic moments in a physical event. The dancers will share their thoughts on freedom, they will look for in-dependence of their bodies with respect to themselves and the audience. On stage the dancers say what they think and how they feel their bodies. The question is whether the body is free. The dancers will tell bits of their family stories, share their thoughts on the subject of freedom, look for in-dependence of their bodies with respect to themselves and the audience, look for identity, flow, community, spirituality – all of it as people, dancers, Poles, citizens of Rzeszów...
"If you could hear something, what I'd like to call the voice of the flesh which speaks to us, maybe some guidelines would be found. Maybe we will find them in our dreams in which we talk to ourselves wordlessly, with our own eyes, directly, where a question does to await someone else's answer because we are the question and the answer. If we could understand our direct body language, we would follow that final voice that speaks to us from the depths of being, it would be our own voice" ("Metafizyka mięsa" Jolanta Brach Czaina).
INFORMATION ABOUT THE ARTISTS:
Marta Bury - Choreographer, dancer, actress, sociologist. Between 2001-2016 actress in "Maska" Theatre. Multiple award winner for her theatre roles at International Festivals of Puppet Theatre. She created around fifty choreographies, mostly for puppet theatres but also for drama and dance theatres. Prized for her choreographies at the Dance Theatres Festivals. Author of her own method of working with the body "becoming a space". Founder and choreographer O.de.la. Theatre. Director of the Foundation which promotes contemporary dance.
